Porco Takes Off Again

Hayao Miyazaki. Now that’s an anime director to be revered. In his long career, he has made so many original animes he has not had time for sequels. Until now. Yes fan boys and girls, his first sequel under Studio Ghibli will be Porco Rosso: The Last Sortie, taken from the 1992 original Porco Rosso.
Porco Rosso followed an Italian World War I fighter pilot who was transformed into a pig by a magical curse and now works as a bounty hunter protecting ships in the Adriatic Sea from roving gangs of flying pirates. The sequel will be set during the Spanish Civil War and for a change will have a male character as the film’s protagonist. The original’s leading characters were the pig-faced Porco and a young female aircraft engineer. No word yet when this sequel will be out but Studio Ghibli has got a new anime The Borrower Arrietty, so if any of you has seen it, feel free to comment. Until then.

Sounds like a blast! Can’t wait to see how it’s going to turn out, but having watched nearly all the Studio Ghibli productions, I’m sure it’ll turn out amazing!
The Borrower Arrietty was based on ‘The Borrowers’ by Mary Norton right? I have friends who had seen the movie but I haven’t been able to see it for myself. She said it was beautiful.

I simply wished to say thanks again. I do not know the things I might have followed in the absence of these advice shared by you on such a field. Hello there, Are you able to be publishing a followup piece? My husband and me have squandered a bit browsing over your website page and surprisingly enough you touched on anything we had been discussing only the other one week with our accountant. We often notice ourselves quarrelling throughout the smallest of issues, isn?t it childish?
